LECIP INC. (Illinois, USA, President Kazuo Ueno), a consolidated subsidiary of LECIP HOLDINGS CORPORATION (Motosu-City, Gifu, Japan, President Makoto Sugimoto), received an order for an Automated Fare Collection (AFC) Farebox System for fixed route buses from the Clark County Public Transit Benefit Area (C-TRAN) in the United States.
For LECIP Group, this is the third major contract following the Santa Monicafs Big Blue Bus in California and the Transit Authority of River City in Louisville, Kentucky last year.
As we have gain momentum in the North American market, we will continue to aggressively pursue business activity backed up by our state-of-the-art technology, high quality equipment, and reliable service.
1. Background
C-TRAN was established in 1981 and operates approximately 30 routes and over 100 buses in Clark County, Washington and into Portland in neighboring Oregon. C-TRANfs current farebox system was at the end of its useable life and C-TRAN sought to replace it with a new, modern, state of the art system. In a competitive process LECIP successfully won the bid due to a high evaluation in the farebox equipmentfs high processing speed, easy maintenance of the hardware, and usability of the system as a whole.
With this procurement, all route buses will be replaced with new AFC onboard equipment along with a Central Reporting and Management System to be installed on office workstations for the administrative users. This new procurement will result in a more efficient Automated Fare Collection System for C-TRAN.
